Job summary

ASTEC is actively seeking a skilled welder/fabricator in Oregon to cut and prepare components, lay out and weld parts per specifications, and manage heavy loads with overhead cranes. You will read drawings and pass a weld test as part of the hiring process.

We offer a $1,500 sign-on bonus and a $2.00 per hour shift differential, plus a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, and 401(k) with company match.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Forklift, overhead crane, and rigging experience required.
• Must pass weld test.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret detailed drawings.

Responsibilities

• Cut and prepare surfaces or components.
• Lay out, position, fit, tack, weld, and finish a variety of parts or products following established methods and specifications.
• Handle and position heavy components using an overhead crane, clamps, jigs, and fixtures.
• Weld in flat, horizontal, vertical, or overhead positions.
• Other job duties as assigned.
