Job summary

ASTEC in Blair, NE, is seeking a Welder for day shift to contribute to our welding and fabrication projects. You will read and interpret drawings, prepare surfaces, and weld in multiple positions, using overhead cranes and rigging as needed.

The role offers full-time, on-site hours with training and safety as a priority. We value candidates with a high school diploma or GED, and with forklift/crane/rigging experience who can pass a welding test.

Our Day Shift hours are Monday‑Thursday 6:00am‑4:30pm, Friday 6:00am‑2:30pm. Our Night Shift hours are Monday‑Thursday 5:00pm‑5am. We have positions available for both day and night shifts.

What You’ll Do

• Cut and prepare surfaces or components.
• Lay out, position, fit, tack, weld, and finish a variety of parts or products following established methods and specifications.
• Handle and position heavy components using an overhead crane, clamps, jigs, and fixtures.
• Weld in flat, horizontal, vertical, or overhead positions.
• Other job duties as assigned.
