Job summary

ASTEC located in Audubon, Iowa, is seeking a skilled Welder to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for cutting, preparing, and welding parts using established methods. You will also handle and position heavy components within a safe and supportive work environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Forklift, overhead crane, and rigging experience required.
• Must pass welding test.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret detailed drawings.

Our Day Shift hours are Monday‑Thursday 6:00am‑4:30pm, and Friday 6:00am‑2:30pm.

What You’ll Do

• Cut and prepare surfaces or components.
• Lay out, position, fit, tack, weld, and finish a variety of parts or products following established methods and specifications.
• Handle and position heavy components using an overhead crane, clamps, jigs, and fixtures.
• Weld in flat, horizontal, vertical, or overhead positions.
• Other job duties as assigned.

What We Need From You
