Job summary

Dover Corporation is seeking a Welder II to join our Operations team on the 3rd shift. The Welder will use hand-welding or flame-cutting equipment to join metal components and fill holes, indentations, or seams of fabricated products.

Responsibilities include reading and following written and verbal instructions, interpreting blueprints, welding in flat, vertical, or overhead positions, layout and secure parts, and inspecting work for defects while maintaining equipment.

Qualifications

• Read and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Read and interpret blueprints and work orders.
• Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
• Lay out, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies before assembly.
• Examine work pieces for defects and measure to ensure specifications.
• Identify maintenance needs on equipment and tooling.

• Lay out, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies prior to assembly, using straight edges, combination squares, calipers, and rulers
• Examine work pieces for defects and measure work pieces with straight edges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications
• Recognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools common to the welding trade, such as shielded metal arc and gas metal arc welding equipment
• Must be able to adapt to rapidly changing situations
• Identify maintenance needed on equipment and tooling
• Work at different workstations as production needs require
