Job summary

Dover Food Retail is seeking a Welder II to join its Operations team in a shift-based environment. The role involves hand-welding or flame-cutting to join metal components, reading blueprints, and maintaining quality through inspection and proper safety practices.

This hourly, non-exempt position requires the ability to work at multiple stations, follow instructions, and adapt to changing production needs while maintaining a clean and safe work area. Strong teamwork is essential.

Qualifications

• Read and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Read and interpret blueprints and work orders.
• Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
• Lay out, position, align, and secure parts using measuring tools.
• Identify maintenance needs on equipment and tooling.

Responsibilities

• Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions
• Lay out, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies prior to assembly, using straight edges, combination squares, calipers, and rulers
• Examine work pieces for defects and measure work pieces with straight edges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications
• Recognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools common to the welding trade
• Must be able to adapt to rapidly changing situations
• Identify maintenance needed on equipment and tooling
• Work at different workstations as production needs require
• Maintain the work area in a clean, safe, and orderly manner
• Use proper safety equipment and apparel required for each operation
• Perform other duties as assigned
