Job summary

Dover Corp is seeking a Welder II - MIG/TIG in South Chesterfield, VA. The role focuses on laying out, fitting, cutting and welding fabricated components to construct machinery frames and shelving. Prior robotic welding experience is a plus, with readiness to learn new skills.

The ideal candidate will perform TIG and MIG welding on thin aluminum, read work orders and drawings, and uphold a safe, organized workspace while supporting engineering prototypes as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• One-year certificate from college or technical school or related experience acceptable.
• Two years of related experience or training preferred.
• Pass internal welding certification/test is required.
• Ability to read blueprints and work orders.
• Basic math skills and ability to read a tape measure.

Responsibilities

• Cut aluminum and galvanized metals to length per work order; operate tools like radial saw or miter saw.
• Deburr aluminum with an electric sander.
• Shape edges of aluminum to specifications using a punch press.
• Punch holes on plastic or aluminum according to work order.
• Weld using TIG and MIG on thin aluminum extrusions.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area per company procedures.
• Read and interpret work orders, drawings, and procedures.
• Develop prototype samples to support engineering projects.

Job Title: Welder II - MIG/TIG

Location: South Chesterfield, VA

Shift: 1st Shift, 6am-2:30pm

What we’re looking for:

We are looking for a MIG/TIG Welder I who will be responsible for laying out, fitting, cutting, welds to fabricated components to assemble structural forms such as machinery frames, shelving, etc. by performing the following duties. Must have experience in operating robotic welding or willingness and aptitude to learn.

What you'll be responsible for in this role:

• Cuts aluminum /galvanized metals into various lengths according to work order. May use various tools such as radial saw and miter saw.

• Deburr aluminum using electric sander.

• Shapes edges of aluminum according to work order specifications using a punch press.

• Punches holes on plastic or aluminum according to specification on work order using various punch presses.

• Ability to TIG and MIG weld thin aluminum extrusions.

• Ensures work area is maintained in an orderly and safe manner per company procedures.

• Read and interpret work orders, documents, drawings, and procedures.

• Develop prototype samples as needed to support engineering projects.

What are the basic qualifications?

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

• One-year certificate from college or technical school or related experience below.

• Two years related experience and/or training equivalent.

Additional Job Requirements?

• Quality - maintain rejection rate of xx units per x. (or FPY of XX%)

• Productivity - support output of 140+ frames per 8 hour shift (1 welder)

• Pass internal welding certification test.

What are the preferred qualifications?

• 2 years of manufacturing experience preferred
