Job summary

Plug Power, Inc. is seeking a Welder I for the 2nd shift to perform welding and fabrication with strict attention to quality and safety. The role requires reading blueprints, selecting welding methods, and preparing parts with grinders and calipers.

The candidate should have at least one year of welding/fabrication experience and be able to pass an on-site welding test, with exposure to GTAW, GMAW, and FCAW. ASME standards knowledge is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year welding and fabrication experience.
• Ability to pass on-site welding test.
• Experience with GTAW, GMAW and FCAW.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Knowledge of safety standards and PPE requirements.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment to assemble mechanical structures with precision.
• Read blueprints and measurements to plan layout.
• Determine welding method based on requirements.
• Set up components for welding per specifications.
• Prepare parts with grinders and calipers.
• Weld components in various positions (vertical, horizontal, overhead).
• Ensure welds meet ASME specifications and callouts.
• Inspect welded parts for quality.
