Responsibilities include welding in flat, vertical, or overhead positions, inspecting welds, and setting up components with basic hand tools. Candidates should have 1–2 years of production welding experience and the ability to obtain government or shipyard

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1–2 years relevant welding experience required.
  • Ability to obtain/maintain access to military installations and shipyards.
  • Ability to read schematics and follow detailed instructions.
  • Safety conscious with good hand-eye coordination.
  • Must meet welding qualification standards.

Responsibilities

  • Weld metal components to design specs or repair parts using approved procedures.
  • Perform TIG, MIG and other arc welding as needed per layouts.
  • Weld in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
  • Inspect welds and clamp, tack-weld, and grind as required.
  • Operate a variety of welding equipment and ensure proper storage and maintenance.
  • Adhere to shop safety practices and report delays or defects.
