Qualifications

• Ability to read schematics and follow detailed instructions.
• Ability to read, interpret and follow drawings and to conduct activities safely.

Responsibilities

• Welds metal components using TIG, MIG, and other processes per procedures and blueprints.
• Operates various welding equipment including arc welding and plasma cutting.
• Welds in flat, vertical, and overhead positions.
• Ensures shop safety and proper storage of materials and equipment.
• Reports status and progress to government supervisor.
• Monitors welding processes to avoid overheating and distortion.
• Inspects work for defects and measures pieces for conformance.
• Lays out, positions, and secures parts prior to assembly.
