Job summary

McWane Plant & Industrial seeks a Welder I for our Job Shop Fabrication and Machining operation in Madison Heights, VA. The Welder I will layout and weld components using manual welding processes per templates and layout specifications, ensuring welds meet company and government standards.

Responsibilities include maintaining a safe work area, following the McWane Way, welding in Flat, Horizontal, Vertical and Overhead positions, and using a variety of tools safely.

Qualifications

• 1+ year welding experience.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to weld in multiple positions (Flat, Horizontal, Vertical, Overhead).

Responsibilities

• Layout and weld parts to templates and layout specs.
• Ensure welds conform to company and government standards.
• Maintain clean, safe work area and follow PPE requirements.
• Follow safety rules and wear appropriate PPE at all times.
• Possess ability to operate welding equipment and hand tools as needed.
