Job summary

Samuel, a U.S. metals manufacturer, is seeking an experienced Welder to perform welding on assigned jobs, verify weld size and penetration, and discuss issues with leads, PMs or QC.

You will set up and operate machinery, assist with grinding, drilling, shearing, and other duties as needed in a manufacturing environment. This role requires 2/3G certification with 6G preferred, and 1 year of 2/3G welding experience (2-3 years preferred).

Qualifications

• 2/3G certification required – 6G certification preferred.
• 1 year of experience welding at a 2/3G level; 2-3 years' experience preferred.
• Demonstrate ability to with semi-automated weld process and set-up.
• Understands blueprints and part layouts; works with leads/managers to ensure accuracy.
• Can safely and properly rig work pieces.
• Can safely enter/exit/operate man-lifts and scissor lifts.
• Must perform grinding, needle scaling, etc.
• Piping experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Welds on jobs as assigned.
• Periodically reviews welding to ensure adequate weld size and penetration.
• Discusses problems with lead person, PM or QC department.
• Perform correct setup and operation of all machinery to which he is assigned.
• Performs grinding, fit-up, drilling, shearing, or assisting others.
• Maintains clean and safe working areas.
• Obtain correct consumables and tools from Tool Room Attendant; maintains tools and consumables.
• Gives project manager or lead feedback on conditions or issues affecting the job.
• Looks for ways to increase efficiency and quality while following procedures.
• May be required to perform field work as necessary.
