Qualifications

• Must be a certified welder with verifiable certification from an employer, certifying agent, gov. agency, or professional/technical association.
• Welders are classified by welding process or workpiece.
• Knowledge of FCAW, GTAW, GMAW processes and ability to pass company 3G–4G qualification test.

Responsibilities

• Weld metal components per layout, blueprints, or work orders using arc-welding equipment.
• Set up and adjust welding equipment per specifications and procedures.
• Inspect welds for bead size and quality against specs.
• Prepare joints by cleaning, degreasing, or preheating as needed.
• Position, clamp, and tack assemblies; cut metal plates as required.
• May lift up to 100 lbs and work at heights exceeding 6 feet.
