Qualifications

• Technical education preferred or 2 years of experience.
• Welding experience.
• Ability to use electronically controlled equipment and hand tools.
• Experience with tooling and assembly utilizing heavy equipment.
• Experience with quality measuring tools, i.e., calipers, micrometers.
• Experience in use of air pallets, forklifts, and overhead crane operations.

Responsibilities

• Performs hands-on manufacturing tasks while meeting quantity and quality standards and requirements.
• Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
• Examine workpieces for defects and measure workpieces with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications.
• Recognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools common to the welding trade.
• Select and install torches, torch tips, filler rods, and flux, according to welding chart specifications.
• Set up power supplies and strike arcs to weld, ensuring proper electrical connections and flame control.
