Welder/Fabricator (Iron Worker/Structural)

Job Details

Location: Stoughton, WI - only 20 minutes from Madison and Janesville.

Pay Rate: $24+/hour BOE

Schedule: 4-day work week, Monday-Thursday, 10-hour shifts.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Position, layout, fit-up, cut, and weld according to shop drawings.
• Interpret and apply AWS basic weld symbols and typical welding symbols.
• Read and comprehend a Bill of Material to determine required materials.
• Perform detailed quality checks following D1.1 standards.
• Operate tools and equipment, including torch, grinder, air arc, and overhead cranes.
• Follow safety rules and use personal protective equipment.

Required Qualifications

• Pass an AWS 2G flux core multi-pass weld test on a one-inch plate.
• Experience with multi-pass flux core wire feed welding.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds frequently.
• Capable of walking, stooping, kneeling, reaching, and climbing.
• Skilled in using basic hand and measurement tools.
• Good balance and physical strength.
• Willing to work mandatory weekday and voluntary Saturday overtime.

Desired Qualifications

• One or more years of welding/fabrication experience meeting or exceeding performance expectations.
