Job summary

Opti Staffing in Woodburn, OR is hiring a Welder/Fitter for a day shift at a family-owned metal fabrication shop. You’ll perform MIG welding on structural steel and other metals, and fit components per blueprints.

You’ll read technical drawings, inspect welded assemblies for quality, and follow strict safety guidelines while collaborating with engineers and project managers to meet project deadlines. Opportunity for advancement and learning structural steel welding are offered.

Qualifications

• Experience as structural welder/fitter or similar role.
• Proficiency in MIG welding and other techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
• Strong attention to detail and precision.
• Knowledge of safety procedures and PPE usage.
• Certification in welding preferred.

Responsibilities

• Welding: Perform MIG welding on structural steel and other metals.
• Fitting: Measure, cut, and fit metal components using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.
• Blueprint Reading: Interpret and work from blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics to accurately assemble and weld structures.
• Inspection: Inspect welded and fitted components for quality and adherence to specifications. Make necessary adjustments or repairs.
• Safety: Follow all safety protocols and guidelines, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintaining a clean work area.
• Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, project managers, and other team members to ensure project requirements and deadlines are met.
• Maintenance: Maintain and repair welding equipment and tools to ensure optimal performance.
