Summary

The right candidate will:

• Perform welding operations such as arc, MIG, TIG brazing, and burning in all positions on various metals.
• Operate drill presses to make parts for fabrication.
• Record measurements and pertinent information as required.
• Weld according to SMAW, GMAW, GTAW standards, including vertical up, vertical down, and horizontal positions.
• Perform plasma arc and air carbon arc cutting.
• Handle pipe bending, fitting, welding, and threading.
• Use horizontal and vertical saws, torches, and cut-off wheels.
• Set up and operate all welding machines, with basic troubleshooting skills.
• Set up and operate all machines in the fabrication area, with basic troubleshooting skills.

Qualifications

• GED or High School Diploma.
• Basic mechanical knowledge.
• Ability to follow instructions and established procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret prints, including welding prints.
