Job summary

Palmetto Yacht Management seeks an experienced Welder / Fabricator to own welding operations in Manning, SC. You will perform Stick/Arc, TIG, MIG welding, and plasma cutting on fleet trailers and trucks, fabricating parts as needed for high-value yachts and related equipment.

You must pass an on-site welding test, work safely under DOT/OSHA guidelines, and maintain a clean shop while documenting work orders in our fleet software. A minimum of two years in a shop setting is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience as Welder/Fabricator in a shop environment.
• Experience with Stick/Arc, TIG, MIG welding processes and plasma cutting.
• Legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Ability to perform physical tasks and pass a welding test on-site.
• Attention to safety and DOT/OSHA guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Perform welding repairs for fleet of RAM 5500 trucks and trailers.
• Fabricate parts for specialized marine transportation equipment.
• Use Stick/Arc, TIG, MIG welding and plasma cutting processes.
• Inspect trailer frames and related components for quality and safety.
• Maintain a clean, safe shop and document work orders in the fleet software.

This is a highly critical function in our daily operations and you must be skilled in a wide range of welding processes and applications. Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for a wide range of welding repairs and fabricating specialized parts for our Fleet of Custom RAM 5500 Trucks and Custom Built Boat Hauling Trailers in order to minimize unscheduled downtime and ensure compliance with all regulatory DOT standards.

• Perform: Stick / Arc Welding Repairs (Steel)
• Perform: TIG Processes (Aluminum & Steel)
• Perform: MIG Processes (Steel)
• Perform: Plasma Cutter / Torches
• Perform: Utilize all tools of the trade, including hand tools, power tools, air tools, measuring equipment, hydraulic lifts, drill presses, and band saws effectively and safely.
• Conduct: In-depth inspections on trailer frames and other related steel / aluminum components.
• Execute Repairs on: Truck Beds, Painted Steel, Galvanized Steel, and Aluminum Trailer Systems.
• Complete Detailed and Accurate: Work Orders using our industry leading Fleet Management Software.
• Maintain: A Safe, Clean, and Organized Shop Environment, adhering to all DOT and OSHA safety guidelines.

Requirements:

• A minimum of 2 years of experience working as a Welder / Fabricator in a shop environment .
• Demonstrated experience in all above mentioned welding processes.
• Legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Can perform the physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Ability to stand, crouch, and occasionally lift heavy equipment.
• Ability to think creatively and apply results to safely and efficiently complete tasks.
• Pass our on-site welding test which includes all above mentioned welding processes.
