Job summary

Palmetto Yacht Management in Manning, SC seeks an experienced Welder/Fabricator to own welding operations and fabricate parts for our fleet of truck and trailer equipment. You will work with blueprints or drawings, ensuring precision and safety in a marine transportation setting.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of shop welding experience, proficiency in Stick/Arc, TIG, and MIG processes, and the ability to pass our on-site welding test while maintaining a clean, compliant work environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of welder/fabricator experience in a shop environment.
• Proficient in Stick/Arc, TIG and MIG welding processes.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints or drawings.
• Ability to pass an on-site welding test.
• Physically capable of handling heavy equipment and standing for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Perform welding repairs and fabrications for fleet trucks and trailers.
• Operate TIG, MIG, Stick welding and plasma cutting equipment.
• Inspect welded components and ensure compliance with DOT/OSHA safety guidelines.
• Use hand/power tools and measuring devices to complete tasks accurately.
• Maintain a clean, organized shop and document work orders.

We are looking for an innovative, results-driven Experienced Welder / Fabricator to take ownership of our welding operations in Manning, SC. This is a highly critical function in our daily operations and you must be skilled in a wide range of welding processes and applications. Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for a wide range of welding repairs and fabricating specialized parts for our Fleet of Custom RAM 5500 Trucks and Custom Built Boat Hauling Trailers in order to minimize unscheduled downtime and ensure compliance with all regulatory DOT standards.

• Stick / Arc Welding Repairs (Steel)
• TIG Processes (Aluminum & Steel)
• MIG Processes (Steel)
• Plasma Cutter / Torches
• Utilize all tools of the trade, including hand tools, power tools, air tools, measuring equipment, hydraulic lifts, drill presses, and band saws effectively and safely.
• In-depth inspections on trailer frames and other related steel / aluminum components.
• Truck Beds, Painted Steel, Galvanized Steel, and Aluminum Trailer Systems.
• Work Orders using our industry leading Fleet Management Software.
• A Safe, Clean, and Organized Shop Environment, adhering to all DOT and OSHA safety guidelines.

Requirements:

• A minimum of 2 years of experience working as a Welder / Fabricator in a shop environment .
• Demonstrated experience in all above mentioned welding processes.
• Legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Can perform the physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.

• Ability to stand, crouch, and occasionally lift heavy equipment.

• Ability to think creatively and apply results to safely and efficiently complete tasks.

• Pass our on-site welding test which includes all above mentioned welding processes.
