Job summary

Welding Works in Madison, CT is seeking an EXPERIENCED Fabricator/Welder for a first-shift, full-time position. The role requires real-time fabrication and welding expertise with the ability to read blueprints and interpret layouts.

You will operate and set up a range of fabrication equipment, work independently with minimal supervision, and maintain a clean, safe work area. Benefits include health and retirement plans and paid time off.

Qualifications

• Three years or more real-time fabrication and welding experience.
• Ability to read blueprints, layouts, and the means of manufacture.
• Proficient in setup and operation of fabrication equipment and tools.
• Good English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Work independently with minimum supervision.
• Maintain work area, tools, and equipment in a clean and orderly fashion.
• Set up and safely operate fabrication and welding equipment.
• May work with or without fixtures with attention to detail to avoid distortion.
• Report defective materials, unusual conditions, errors, or operational difficulties to the supervisor.

Qualifications

• MUST HAVE real-time experience in fabrication and some welding. Three (3) years or more.
• Ability to read blueprints, understand layouts, and the means of manufacture.
• Proficient in set-up and operations of most fabrication equipment: Shears, Press Brake, Angle Rolls, Plate Rolls, Iron Worker, and Saws.
• Strong understanding of Plasma Cutting, Oxy-Acetylene - Torch Cutting, and carbon-Arc gouging.
• Functional knowledge of hand and power tools such as drills, grinders, and sanders in the setup and fitting for welding or in finishing of welds.
• Functional knowledge of welding machine operation, regulating current, and voltage for the proper fusion of metals.
• Good communication skills in English.

Physical Requirements

• Lifting 1- 50 lbs. (Occasionally 51-100 lbs.).
• Pushing & pulling 1-50 lbs. (Occasionally 51-100 lbs.).
• Repetitive use of hands and feet required (both right & left).
