Position Overview

Foss Demolition Inc. is seeking an experienced and driven Welder/Fabricator to become a valued member of our dynamic team. This role requires a unique combination of technical expertise, precision, and innovation to weld and fabricate metal components with a commitment to producing high-quality and durable products.

Key Responsibilities

·Read and interpret technical manuals, illustrations, diagrams, schematics, and specifications to perform repairs and modifications according to OEM standards.

·Performing MIG, TIG, and stick welding based on project requirements.

·Collaborating with our team to construct and repair metal structures and components on heavy construction equipment with accuracy and efficiency.

·Utilizing advanced welding techniques to meet project specifications and standards.

·Custom fabricating metal parts and equipment to meet specific needs.

·Contributing creative solutions to fabrication challenges while maintaining attention to detail and quality.

·Assessing welded surfaces, structures, and components to identify potential errors or inconsistencies.

·Following safety protocols diligently while maintaining up-to-date knowledge of industry standards.

·Utilizing machinery to create parts required for welding projects.

·Testing and inspecting welded surfaces and structures to uncover flaws and ensure quality.

·Maintaining equipment in safe, reliable working conditions to prevent safety compromises.

·Communicating the progress of daily tasks with all relevant stakeholders.

·Operating equipment to verify functionality and repairs.

·Mentoring junior mechanics and apprentices through hands-on training and guidance.

·Collaborating with other departments to provide technical expertise and support.

·Performing other duties as assigned to meet operational demands.

Skills and Requirements

·Proven experience as a Welder Fabricator, demonstrating expertise in the field.

·Technical training or certification in welding and fabrication.

·Proficiency in MIG, TIG, and stick welding techniques.

·High school diploma or equivalent; a relevant professional or vocational qualification is preferred.

·Familiarity with common welding tools and procedures, including MIG welding, TIG welding, metal fabricating, grinding, and metal finishing

·Strong hand-eye coordination, manual dexterity, and physical capability to stand, crouch, and occasionally lift heavy equipment.

·Ability to read and interpret blueprints, as well as knowledge of common welding symbols.

·Problem-solving skills to identify and resolve issues in welding and fabrication processes.

·Exceptional attention to detail to ensure welds are precise and meet high-quality standards.

·Thorough understanding and adherence to welding safety procedures and practices.

·Capability to handle and store metal materials properly, along with loading and unloading equipment as needed.

·Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with co-workers and stakeholders.
