Key Responsibilities and Expectations:
Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Welder/Fabricator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and welding metal components to create high-quality products according to blueprints and specifications. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of welding techniques, fabrication processes, and safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret and analyze blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to plan fabrication and welding tasks.
- Repair rotating equipment shafting using various welding processes.
- Perform various welding techniques such as MIG, TIG, and Stick welding on different materials like steel, aluminum, and stainless steel.
- Braze copper and brass with various wall thicknesses.
- Balance rotating elements (rotors, fans, impellers, ect.) using balance equipment.
- Operate fabrication tools, including saws, grinders, and shears, to shape and prepare materials.
- Assemble metal components and structures using manual tools and welding equipment.
- Inspect completed work to ensure it meets quality standards and adheres to specifications.
- Maintain and troubleshoot welding equipment to ensure proper functionality.
- Follow all workplace safety standards and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Collaborate with team members, including engineers and other fabricators, to ensure timely project completion.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Welder/Fabricator or in a similar role.
- Proficiency in MIG, TIG, and Stick welding. Certification is a plus.
- Strong understanding of metal fabrication processes and materials.
- Strong basic mathematic skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
- Skilled in using hand tools and welding/fabrication machinery.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under deadlines.
- Physical stamina and dexterity to handle materials and work in various positions.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time
- Ability to lift, push, pull, carry items up to 60 lbs.
- Must have vision that allows for welding process to not be hindered or restricted.
