TrueNorth Steel – Huron is seeking an entry-level Welder I for day shift work in Huron, SD. The role involves safe fabrication of steel products under close supervision and learning to read blueprints and welding symbols.

You will perform basic MIG welds, take precise measurements, and work with a team to meet production goals. Ideal candidates have a High School diploma or GED and up to 1 year of welding experience.

DAY SHIFT: Monday - Thursday, 6:30 am - 5:00 pm (OT Friday as needed)

PAY RATE: $21.65 - 24.00+ per hour (DOE) + Full Benefits Package

LOCATION: Huron, SD

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for the safe and efficient fabrication of steel products. The Welder I is an entry-level welding position, with all work being completed with close supervision.

• Able to perform simple flat and horizontal welds and flat groove welds.
• Able to Fit and weld subassemblies with tack or spot weld.
• Able to perform measurements within specified tolerances.
• Exhibit knowledge of material identification, equipment utilization and welding equipment set-up and maintenance.
• General knowledge of equipment and operations.
• Basic understanding of Weld symbols.
• Understand and follow oral and written directions.
• Ability to read a tape measure (imperial and metric).
• Ability to accept responsibility and account for his/her actions.
• Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.
