Job summary

TrueNorth Steel is seeking an entry-level Welder I for the West Fargo plant. The role involves safe and efficient fabrication of steel products under close supervision. Night shift runs Monday to Thursday, 6:00am to 4:30pm with overtime as needed.

Responsibilities include reading basic blueprints, performing simple welds, following safety and quality procedures, and learning to operate welding equipment. Prior welding experience is preferred but not required for entry-level candidates.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • 1 year welding experience preferred.
  • Ability to read a tape measure (imperial and metric).
  • Ability to read blueprints.

NIGHT SHIFT: Monday - Thursday, 6:00am - 4:30pm (OT as needed)

PAY RATE: $23.50 - $26.00+ per hour (DOE) + Full Benefits Package

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for the safe and efficient fabrication of steel products. The Welder I is an entry-level welding position, with all work being completed with close supervision.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND QUALITIES
  • Able to perform simple flat and horizontal welds and flat groove welds.
  • Able to Fit and weld subassemblies with tack or spot weld.
  • Able to perform measurements within specified tolerances.
  • Exhibit knowledge of material identification, equipment utilization and welding equipment set-up and maintenance.
  • General knowledge of equipment and operations.
  • Basic understanding of Weld symbols.
  • Understand and follow oral and written directions.
  • Ability to read a tape measure (imperial and metric).
  • Ability to accept responsibility and account for his/her actions.
  • Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.
  • Ability to be truthful and be seen as credible in the workplace.
  • Ability to make decisions or take actions to solve a problem or reach a goal.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
