Role and Responsibilities

The Welder – Fabricator will weld and fabricate materials for electrical construction projects at Baer Manufacturing.

• Plan work order procedures, gather tools and materials based on instructions and specifications.
• Repair and fabricate items and equipment using cutting, burning, and welding techniques.
• Maintain, organize, and clean equipment and work area.
• Notify supervisor of faulty equipment or defective materials.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• Understanding of welding/fabricating machines and tools, including wire feed welding (Mig), plasma cutting, grinding, drilling, shearing, and punching.
• Experience with tungsten inert gas (TIG) welding on aluminum and stainless steel is preferred.
• Knowledge of design drawings, principles, and tools for precise, timely assemblies.
• Ability to read and interpret instructions in various formats.
• Mathematical understanding related to welding tasks.

This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement with a pay range of $21.37 to $32.05 per hour. All pay, benefits, and employment terms are determined by the union.

Physical Requirements

• Work environment includes exposure to weather conditions.
• Must wear PPE such as hard toe boots, safety glasses, gloves, and high-visibility vests.
• Use of standard office equipment occasionally required.
• Frequent sitting, standing; occasional bending, kneeling, reaching, stooping, crouching.
• May lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
