Job description

Job Title: Welder

Role

As a Welder, you will be responsible for performing all position welding on products in accordance with code requirements, alignment, and dimensional specifications. You will work from drawings, specifications, and material codes, selecting appropriate welding procedures and techniques to ensure proper penetration, fusion, and strength. The role involves using MIG, TIG, and plasma cutting equipment with various grades and surface finishes of metals.

Responsibilities

1. Demonstrate competency in welding processes.
2. Be trained in hand tools, torch, and arc welding equipment.
3. Be trained in laser, electron beam, and gas welding.
4. Follow welding safety guidelines.
5. Follow safety guidelines when cleaning tools and equipment.
6. Use work orders and blueprint layouts to complete work.
7. Proficiently layout and weld plates.
8. Read and follow the production schedule.
9. Safely operate jib and overhead cranes.
10. Work independently with minimal supervision.
11. Check welds to ensure they meet blueprint tolerances.
12. Perform tasks requiring prolonged standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or climbing.
13. Apply better welding processes as needed.

Expectations

A Welder should have patience and ensure the welding process is completed accurately, adapting quickly to changes during work hours. Being self-directed, detail-oriented, and proactive is essential.

Employment Details

• Full-time, Day Shift (6 am to 2:30 pm) with overtime opportunities.
• Required Education: High School Diploma or GED.
• Compensation: $15.00 to $30.00 per hour, dependent on experience.
