Job summary

MICA Steelworks in Texas is hiring a Welder to fit, weld, fabricate, and repair metal parts per specifications and production schedules. You will deliver UT-passable welds while coordinating with the Welding Lead and Shift Supervisor to maintain quality and production targets.

Expect 8- to 12-hour shifts with potential overtime. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and 1–2 years of welding experience, plus overhead/jib crane familiarity and ability to read blueprints.

Qualifications

• Must pass 2G, T-Joint and Carbon Air Arc tests.
• Knowledge of welding symbols and blueprints.
• Ability to weld with flux core and metal core wire.
• Overhead and jib crane experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Weld steel components per layouts, drawings, or work orders.
• Set up and lay out work using jigs/fixtures or hand layouts.
• Weld in flat and horizontal directions.
• Operate forklifts, hoists, power tools, and related equipment.
• Inspect welds for defects and ensure conformance to specs.
