Job summary

Westerman, Inc. is seeking a Welder Apprentice at our Catoosa, OK facility. This entry-level role focuses on building foundational welding skills under experienced mentors, with opportunity for departmental placement within six months.

You will set up MIG/Flux Core welding, assist welders, read blueprints, and learn to operate pressure vessel components. A commitment to safety and quality is essential in this on-site position.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Welding Certificate and/or 0-6 months of previous welding or equivalent knowledge.
  • Must be able to pass weld skill pre-employment assessment.
  • Ability to read blueprints preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Set up welding machine to MIG or Flux Core to meet production/quality standards.
  • Assist Welders in fit up, grinding, cutting and equipment setup.
  • Assist in layout of tanks and pressure vessel parts.
  • Safely operate and perform SMAW, GMAW or SAW duties.
  • Learn to identify and document vessel parts/components under mentorship.
  • Inspect and weld parts to ensure no welding flaws or defects.

Westerman, Inc., an employee-owned company, is a multiple site manufacturer of production and storage equipment within the oil, gas, and nuclear industries. Our equipment helps optimize well pad design, improve separation efficiency and lower overall equipment spend through high-performance surface separation and processing technology. Our equipment is setting new standards for performance and economics nationwide.SUMMARYThis is an apprentice level role for establishing the skills of first level welders. It is expected most individuals hired into this position will proceed to their departmental placement within 6 months or less. A successful candidate is self-motivated and utilizes a strong work ethic to ensure all quality levels are met and career progression is established.RESPONSIBILITIESRegular and punctual attendance at work is an essential job function of each position and is necessary to your individual effectiveness and that of your work group.
