Job summary

Westerman, Inc. is seeking a Weld Trainer to develop and implement core welding training for new and current employees.

The role partners with Quality to meet safety, customer service, and productivity goals, and to track training compliance and process improvements. Responsibilities include onboarding and cross-training programs, evaluating welder qualifications, and coordinating with Operations and Quality to meet operational objectives.

Qualifications

  • 4–5 years welding experience in manufacturing environment.
  • Basic safety training.
  • Ability to read and interpret a tape measure.
  • Understanding of weld procedure specifications and variables.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Leadership and dependable with excellent attendance.
  • Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement and maintain onboarding program for new welders.
  • Develop, implement and maintain cross-training program for existing welders.
  • Instruct welders in math, drawing interpretation, and use/maintenance of tools and equipment; know codes/regulations.
  • Test and evaluate welder performance qualifications.
  • Collaborate with Operations to plan, prioritize, and complete projects while adapting to demand.
  • Coordinate with Plant Operations and Quality to identify training needs.
  • Maintain safe working environment and communicate effectively with all departments.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Westerman, Inc., an employee-owned company, is a multiple site manufacturer of production and storage equipment within the oil, gas, and nuclear industries. Our equipment helps optimize well pad design, improve separation efficiency and lower overall equipment spend through high-performance surface separation and processing technology. Our equipment is setting new standards for performance and economics nationwide.SUMMARYThe Weld Trainer is responsible for developing and implementing core operational weld training for new employees as well as re-training of current employees as required. This individual will deliver training through pre-set delivery methods and will also work collaboratively with the Quality department in order to achieve or exceed Westerman’s objectives in safety, customer service, quality and productivity. The Weld Trainer will also be responsible for tracking employee training, ensuring employees adhere to all compliance policies and providing recommendations to management for process improvement.RESPONSIBILITIESRegular and punctual attendance at work is an essential job function of each position and is necessary to your individual effectiveness and that of your work group.
