Job summary

Dover Food Retail, located in South Chesterfield, VA, seeks a skilled welder to join production on the 3rd shift (11pm–7am). Responsibilities include reading blueprints, following engineered drawings, grinding to de-bur, and using a cutting torch, square, and other tools. Prior fabrication and welding experience required.

The role emphasizes MIG/TIG welding, basic fabrication, and sheet metal work with safety and 6S practices. Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds is needed.

Qualifications

• Requires blueprints or structural drawings reading and following engineered drawing specifications.
• Ability to operate MIG and TIG welders; robotic welding is a plus.
• Ability to read basic measurements and perform basic math.
• Understand 6S and basic sheet metal practices.

Responsibilities

• Judge and interpret blueprints and structural drawings.
• Follow engineered drawing specifications.
• Grind surfaces to de-bur and smooth edges.
• Use of cutting torch.
• Use of square and other layout tools.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

SUMMARY

Joins together steel parts and may do some sheet metal assembly.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Blueprint reading, Structural drawing reading

• Use of cutting torch
• Use of square
• Other duties as assigned

ESSENTIAL SKILLS

• Ability to operate MIG and TIG. Robotic is a plus.
• Basic fabrication skills

BASIC REQUIREMENTS
