Job summary

Dover Food Retail is seeking a Welder II for its South Chesterfield, VA facility. You will join steel parts, perform MIG and TIG welds, and support sheet metal assembly on a 3rd shift (11pm–7am).

Responsibilities include reading blueprints, maintaining welded tolerances, and using grinders, torches and iron workers. AWS certification is a plus; ability to lift up to 50 lbs is required.

Qualifications

  • One year certificate from college or technical school or six months related experience.
  • Experience with MIG and TIG welding on steel structures.
  • Ability to read weld symbols and blueprints.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble structural frames and sheet metal components.
  • Operate MIG and TIG weld equipment; robotic welding a plus.
  • Follow engineered drawings and perform basic fabrication tasks.
  • Maintain safe, clean work area and comply with 6S standards.

Job Title: Welder II

Location: South Chesterfield, VA

Hours: 3rd Shift; 11pm to 7am

SUMMARY

Joins together steel parts and may do some sheet metal assembly.

ESSENTIALDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Structural frame assembly
  • Blueprint reading, Structural drawing reading
  • Follow Engineered drawing specifications
  • Use of grinder to de-bur surfaces
  • Use of cutting torch
  • Use of square
  • Other duties as assigned
ESSENTIAL SKILLS
  • Ability to operate MIG and TIG. Robotic is a plus.
  • Basic fabrication skills
  • Understanding of 6S
  • Basic math skills
  • Understanding of measurements
  • Basic reading/writing skills
  • Understanding of weld specific tools
  • Understanding of steel types and gauges
  • Ability to operate iron worker
  • Ability to troubleshoot minor sheet metal equipment issues
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • AWS Certification a plus
BASIC REQUIREMENTS

One year certificate from college or technical school; or six months' related experience and/or training equivalent.
