Job summary

Mayville Engineering Company, Inc. is seeking a 3rd shift welding operator to plan and execute welding operations. You will read basic blueprints, set up welding equipment, and prepare materials, ensuring quality welds through inspection and testing.

You will troubleshoot, maintain gear, and adhere to safety rules with PPE. The role may involve operating robots, saws, and grinders in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • Basic understanding of welding processes and techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints, drawings, and welding symbols.
  • General knowledge of welding codes, standards, and safety practices.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to learning quality workmanship.
  • Physical stamina to work in various positions for extended periods.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.

Job Responsibilities

  • May operate machinery including welding robots, saws, and grinders.

Physical & Environmental Requirements
  • Some physical demand; often lifts light to heavy-weight material. Frequent lifting/moving average weight (up to 50 lbs/11-27 kgs) material.
  • Ability to perform occasional to frequent pushing, pulling, bending, kneeling, twisting, crawling and/or reaching over a full work shift (8-12 hours).
  • Ability to operate motorized vehicles over a full work shift (8-12 hours).
  • Ability to stand and / or walk constantly over a full work shift on concrete (8-12 hours).
  • May be exposed to noise levels for which hearing protection is required to be worn over a full work shift (8-12 hours).
Qualifications
Experience
  • Some prior experience or training in welding preferred but not required.
  • Willingness to complete a certified welding program (required)
