Job summary

Nidec Motor Corporation is seeking a skilled welder/assembler to join our first shift team in the United States. You will assemble and weld shells, rings, and feet for generators, set up welders, and adjust speeds and feeds for proper welds, while ensuring high-quality workmanship and safety.

Responsibilities include inspecting welded components, maintaining tool setups, and contributing to TPM tasks. A High School Diploma or GED is required, with strong reading of blueprints and precise

  • Ability to read complicated drawings and decimal dimensions on blueprints.
  • Utilize precise measuring devices and set up own work.
  • Experience with MIG welding and proper setup of welds.

  • Places stator core on mandrel and assembles shell and rings.
  • Sets up welders and adjusts speeds/feeds for correct welds.
  • Inspects welded material quality to prevent rework.
  • Performs TPM tasks and keeps work area clean and safe.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Job Description

Assembles and welds shells, rings, and feet for generators. Also corrects settings, speeds, and feeds on welders including proper setup of product to be welded.

Duties & Responsibilities Information:
  • Assembles and welds shells, rings, and feet for generators
  • Places stator core on mandrel, asssembles shell and rings
  • Guages height and then tacks weld together
  • Assembles and welds feet to frame and core assembly
  • Corrects settings on welders including speeds and feeds as well as proper setup of product to be welded
  • Inspects quality of material being welded to prevent rework
  • Includes MIG welding
  • Protects other employees from flash of arc which could cause damage to eyes
  • Wears welding hood, gloves, and other protection as dictated
  • Exercises good housekeeping in work area
  • Observes good safety practices in performance of job
  • Performs daily/weekly TPM tasks and completes checksheets
  • Performs other job duties as assigned by Supervisor or Team Leader
Necessary Skills:
  • Must be able to read complicated drawings, decimal dimensions on blueprints, utilize precise measuring devices and use to perform own setups
