Job summary

Caterpillar is seeking a Welder 3 in North Carolina to join our Operations team. You will perform manual MIG welding, repair welds with carbon air arc, and inspect your work against drawings. The role requires rotating to multiple positions and maintaining a safe, clean work area.

The 3rd shift starts at 10:15 pm with pay of $26.75 per hour plus 8% shift premium. A comprehensive Day One benefits package and a quarterly bonus are included.

Qualifications

• At least one year of welding experience.
• At least one year of carbon air arc experience.
• Must be able to pass 2F fillet weld, 4F fillet weld (overhead) & 2G groove weld test.

Responsibilities

• Use various tools to perform welding duties including manual MIG welding.
• Repair defective welds using carbon air arc process, grinders, etc.
• Inspect own work for quality using weld gauges and other measuring tools.
• Move heavy components (over 35 lbs) using lifting devices.
• Perform routine maintenance (wire/tip and nozzle changes) in all qualified workstations.
• Rotate to multiple positions within the job function area.
• Follow procedures, standard work, routings, and blueprints for safe, defect-free operations.
• Apply CPS principles of 5S, continuous improvement, waste elimination, and standard work.
• Own process and final inspections; work as part of a team.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work area.
