Job summary

Eaton’s ES GDCO division seeks a Welder for the Worcester, MA team on 2nd shift. The role involves hand- and robotic welding on standard assemblies, with deburring and finishing steps as needed, while maintaining equipment and following safety practices.

Minimum 6 months welding experience or a welding certificate is required; relocation is not offered. 50-mile radius restriction applies for candidates.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine hand-welding or robotic welding on standard and near-standard assemblies.
• Deburr, grind, and fit components prior to welding; grind and polish finished elements as required.
• Operate spot welders, arc welders, MIG/TIG welders, and related fabrication tools.
• Maintain equipment, follow safety rules, and assist with on-the-job training and process improvements.

De-burr, grind, and fit components prior to welding. Grind and polish finished elements as required. Block jig or position parts prior to welding. Assist other operators in their work as directed/required. Making what matters work at Eaton takes the passion of every employee around the world.In this function you will:• Perform work from manufacturing information, bills of material, written and/or oral instructions.• Utilize manufacturing information, determine necessary parts/inventory, jigs/fixtures, and obtain materials from stock areas• Complete necessary preparation work such as wiping, degreasing, de-burring, or grinding of components• Pick up and place scrap in appropriate containers. Documentation/record keeping may be required• Operate spot welders, arc welders, plasma TIG welder, MIG welder, cutting torch, power grinder, power sanders, hand-tools, bandsaws, drills, temporary fixturing devices, jigs and fixtures, and other metal-fabrication equipment as directed.• Be responsible for maintenance of equipment such as dressing of welding electrodes, oiling/greasing, machine settings, changing of tooling, and minor adjustments may be necessary. Complete necessary maintenance check sheets and inform Supervisor and / or Maintenance personnel of any problems• Maintain equipment and perform housekeeping duties as necessary.• Adheres to all environmental, health, safety rules and regulations, and work instructions including the use of ventilation equipment during welding operation and the use of proper personal protective equipment (PPE).• Assist team in achieving plant and department goals by flexing when needed.• Assist with on-the-job training and continuous improvement.• Fosters an environment that promotes Eaton’s goals, philosophies, and encourages continuous improvement through participation and teamwork.• General knowledge of Eaton Quality Management System (EQMS).• Perform other duties as required.Qualifications:Required:• High School Diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution.• Minimum of 6 months of prior welding experience OR a technical diploma or certification in welding from an accredited institution.• No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of the work location will be considered.
