Job summary

Eaton in Sherman, TX is seeking a full-time Industrial Welder for the 2nd shift (2:30pm–11:00pm). The role requires set-up and operation of welding equipment, reading blueprints, and maintaining documentation.

Wage starts at $22.71/hour with a $1.20/hour shift differential, and a strong emphasis on quality and safety in a fast-paced environment. Ideal candidates will have TIG/MIG welding experience and the ability to lift up to 75 lbs, with reliable attention to detail and teamwork to meet

• Must have a minimum of one year TIG and MIG welding.
• High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution.
• No relocation benefit is being offered; only candidates in Sherman, TX area will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Set up, understand and proficiently operate all welding equipment.
• Weld components based on print specifications.
• ID and tag shop orders with the product; retrieve/enter data into the system.
• Ensure quality and proper documentation on all parts.
• Maintain components and supplies as required to operate efficiently.
• Perform 5S and Continuous Improvement activities.

Retrieve/enter data into the system.• Ensure quality and proper documentation on all parts.• Maintain components and supplies as required to operate efficiently.• Weld components based on print specifications.• Perform 5S & Continuous Improvement activitiesQualifications:Basic (Required) Qualifications:• Must have a minimum of one (1) year TIG and MIG welding• Must have a High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution• No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates that currently reside within the immediate geographical area of Sherman, TX will be considered. This means that Eaton will not support any CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT plans, F-1 to H-1B, H-1B cap registration, O-1, E-3, TN status, I-485 job portability, etc.Preferred Qualifications:• AWS Weld Certified• Minimum of 2-3 years TIG/MIG Welding• Minimum of one (1) year utilizing blueprints (AWS weld symbols) and using simple measuring tools• Basic computer skillsPosition Criteria:• Solid math skills; analytical and reasoning skills.• Working knowledge of weld operations, including TIG, MIG of stainless steel and/or aluminum• Ability to lift 50 lbs occasionally to frequently (33-66%) and up to 75 lbs. occasionally by stooping, reaching, bending• Ability to stand for eight hours plus and perform repetitious tasks• Ability to read blueprints and use simple measuring tools• Ability to follow directions, work independently, and close attention to detail• Work as part of a team having responsibility for assembling an entire product or component of a product• Ability to reach, grasp and manipulate¬• Ability to work mandatory overtime, including Saturdays, as needed by the business• Requires PPE to include safety glasses, steel-toe shoes, leather gloves, and hearing protection (as required in high-noise areas)• Environment exposure includes sharp objects, pinch points, oil, and sparks.We are committed to ensuring equal employment opportunities for all job applicants and employees.
