Eaton’s ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a Production Welder - 2nd Shift.The hourly rate for this position is $24.45 + $2.50 shift premium. The hours for this shift are 3:00 pm - 11:00 pm. Overtime may exceed these hours and be mandatory at times.Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.Why work at Eaton? Applications must be submitted on or after January 1st, 2024 to qualify.Bonuses are only applicable to specific job types and shifts; additional terms and conditions may apply.Associates must be employed at the time of the payout.What you’ll do:The Production Welder operates a mig welding machine and air grinder, assembling and welding tank covers, nut guards, doors, risers/sills, production orders, switch module cubicle components, and single/three phase cubicle components. The operator checks parts against prints to ensure proper dimensions and locations. The welder is responsible for proper fit and appearance of finished parts, according to quality specifications.In this function, you will:Determine if material is to specs, check prints for E.C.O.’s N.C.R.’s, etc., and for latest revisions.Set-up material in positioner, jig, or fixtures. Make simple layouts when required.Weld or stud weld various types of hardware to the part being built.Tack weld part, adjusting wire feed for proper size weld seam.Grind excess weld and trim edges for fit of parts and appearance.Operate crane, electric stacker, and other mechanical assists to move, position, and unload heavy parts and assemblies.Operate oxyacetylene cutting/carbon arc torch and replace mig torch body, lever switch, and hoses from wire feed to torch body.Qualifications:Required (Basic) Qualifications:High school graduate or GED is required from an accredited institution.One of the below is required:Minimum of 1 year of manufacturing experience in an Eaton facilityWelding certification OR current enrollment in a Welding Program with an anticipated completion date in 2026 from an accredited institutionPrevious welding experience in manufacturing or a related field.Eaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position.
