Job summary

Modine Manufacturing Company is seeking skilled welders to assemble and weld HVAC unit components and related equipment. You will read blueprints and specifications, perform MIG, TIG, and aluminum welding, and ensure fit-up and weld quality meet print requirements.

You will work with the Lead Welder or Supervisor, maintain a safe workspace, and participate in a comprehensive benefits program including health, dental, vision insurance and retirement plans.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand for 2–3 hours.
• Familiar with tools.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and weld commercial and industrial HVAC-related assemblies and supporting equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine part orientation, weld symbols, and layout.
• Ensure precise fit up, layout, and weld quality to meet print requirements and standards.
• Work with Lead Welder or Supervisor to meet SOPs, production schedules, and quality expectations.
• Maintain a safe and organized work area following safety policies and PPE requirements.
• Inspect welds for accuracy and quality and perform adjustments or repairs as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Position Description

Suitable candidates must be able to:

• Assemble and weld commercial and industrial assemblies/fabrications related to HVAC units and supporting equipment
• Perform welding operations on multiple materials, including:
  • Carbon and structural steel using MIG (GMAW)
  • Aluminum using a MIG spool gun
  • Thin gauge stainless steel using TIG (GTAW)
  • This gauge stainless steel using MIG (GMAW)
• Accurately read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine part orientation, weld symbols, dimensions, and assembly layout
• Ensure precise fit up, layout, and weld quality to meet print requirements and company standards
• Work closely with the Lead Welder or Supervisor to meet standard operating procedures, production schedules, and quality expectations
• Maintain a safe and organized work area while following all company safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements.
• Inspect welds for accuracy and quality and make adjustments or repairs as required
• Perform other duties as assigned by a member of management.
