Job summary

Lake Air Products is seeking a 1st shift welder for our Roseville, MN location. The successful candidate will perform TIG/MIG/Tack-welds, read blueprints, and verify dimensional tolerances. This role requiresfit to lift up to 50 pounds and work in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.

Qualifications

• Experience with TIG, MIG and Tack-weld processes is required.
• Ability to read blueprints and perform precise measurements.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work in positions including flat, vertical and overhead.
• Strong integrity, reliability and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Lay out, position, and secure parts and assemblies per specifications.
• Observe tests on welded surfaces (hydrostatic, x-ray, dimension tolerance).
• Develop templates or tooling to hold and align parts.
• Determine equipment and welding methods using metallurgy knowledge.
• Inspect finished products and compare with samples to ensure specifications are met.
• Weld metal using various arc welding processes.

Position Summary

We are looking for a 1stshiftwelder to join our growing location in Roseville, MN. If you have TIGexperience and enjoy working with your hands, this could be a great position for you.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Lay out, position, and secure parts and assemblies according to specifications, using straightedge, combination square, calipers, and ruler
• Observe tests on welded surfaces, such as hydrostatic, x-ray, and dimension tolerance
• Develops templates or tooling and other work aids to hold and align parts.
• Determines required equipment and welding methods, applying knowledge of metallurgy, geometry, and welding techniques.
• Examining finished products and spare parts and comparing them with samples to check whether the specifications are met.
• Inspects grooves, angles, or gap allowances, using measuring instruments
• welding metal, such as fusing metal segments, using gas tungsten arc, metal arc, flux-cored arc, plasma arc, and other types of welding arcs

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 7+ years of experience in TIG, MIG, and Tack-weld (TIG welding preferred)
• Excellent people skills, with an ability to partner with a dynamic leadership team
• Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and a commitment to the mission
• Ability to weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
• Lift objects up to 50 pounds throughout the day
• Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Reading blueprints and performing all necessary measurements
