Job summary

Lake Air Products in Roseville, MN is seeking a 1st & 2nd shift Spot Welder with set-up experience to join our team. If you are skilled in sheet metal fabrication, this is an excellent opportunity in a fast-growing contract manufacturing environment.

You will operate spot welding equipment, install electrodes, adjust heat and timing, and inspect welds. The role emphasizes quality, safety, and teamwork at our Roseville facility.

Qualifications

• Flexible and able to multi-task in a fast-moving environment

Responsibilities

• Operate spot welding equipment and apply copper alloy electrodes to form welds
• Install proper electrodes on the spot-welding machine
• Adjust heat, pressure, and timing for sheet material
• Work from routings, prints, or instructions
• Inspect welds with measuring tools to ensure dimensions and quality
• Identify faults and notify supervisors to take corrective action

Position Summary

We are currently looking for a 1st & 2ndshift Spot Welder with set-up experienceto join our growing Roseville,MN location. If you are experienced in sheet metal fabrication, this could be an excellent opportunity for you.

• Use Spot Welding equipment; apply two shaped copper alloy electrodes to concentrate welding current into a small "spot" and to simultaneously clamp the sheets together. Force a large current through the spot to melt the metal and form the weld.
• Install proper electrodes on the spot-welding machine.
• Adjusts control for proper heat, pressure settings, and timing of current.
• Use the proper amount of heat to match the sheet's material properties, thickness, and type of electrodes.
• Work from routings, prints, or instructions.
• Inspect work using a micrometer, caliper, and precision measuring instruments.
• Examines welded components for any defects.
• Deliver the first piece to inspection for verification of dimensions and weld accuracy.
• Responsible for producing the highest level of quality, utilizing control plans, customer drawings, and appropriate work instructions.
• Supervising and identifying any fault in operating the equipment or in relation to any material or equipment, then notifying the supervisors

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 2+ years’ experience in Spot Welding preferred
• Excellent people skills, with an ability to partner with the leadership team
• Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and a commitment to the mission
• Flexible and able to multi-task; can work with an ambiguous, fast-moving environment, while also driving toward clarity and solutions; demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities and guiding investment in people and systems
• Bend and lift, loading and unloading work pieces into the machine, and move from one workstation to another, alternately sitting and standing
