Responsibilities and Duties

1. Complete AWS certification 3G test using (FCAW) Flux Core – Mig Welding, with thickness ranging from 1/8 inch to unlimited.
2. Read blueprints using GIT tolerances and AWS weld symbols.
3. Operate overhead cranes with proper rigging techniques, forklifts, and drill presses of all types.
4. Understand AWS requirements for weld sizes, multiple passes, pre-heating, inner pass temperatures, and both partial and full penetration welds.
5. Use oxy-fuel torches to cut structural members up to 1” thick.
6. Fabricate small structures from drawings using basic layout tools and standard fabrication tools, working with minimal supervision.
7. Own and maintain personal tools such as welding hood, gloves, framing square, torpedo level, 25’ tape measure, ball peen hammer, center punch, and side-cut pliers.
8. Follow all company safety rules and procedures, working safely and productively.
9. Capable of lifting up to 45 pounds safely.

Qualifications and Skills

Minimum of 3-5 years of on-the-job welding experience or an Associate's Degree in welding.
