Position

Welder – Reports to Manufacturing Supervisor, based in Fremont, CA. This is a fully on‑site, in‑office role.

Role and Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret work instructions to determine specific welding requirements.
  • Weld in horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions.
  • Position and clamp parts together in fixtures.
  • Accurately count all pieces to ensure quality control of parts prior to welding.
  • Operate welding equipment according to the operating manual.
  • Complete required paperwork in a correct and timely manner.
  • Operate hoist and power lift stand; load and unload jigs.
  • Perform leak testing checks on finished welding products.
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures and/or Work Instructions exactly as written to produce a quality product.
  • Fabricate components for use in a solid oxide fuel cell electrical power generator.
  • Maintain all machine shop equipment and 5S upkeep.
  • Notify management of shop consumables (e.g., cutting oils, welding gases, tooling and bits, etc.) to maintain inventories.
  • Create assembly and fabrication fixtures.
  • Address and recommend improved methods for creating hardware and assemblies.
  • Perform basic job functions as directed safely and efficiently.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills and Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • 1 year of TIG welding experience preferred.
  • 2–3 years of hands‑on manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Required experience in following work instructions.
  • Preferred valid certificate in welding from an accredited institution.
  • Must have mechanical skills and be able to use basic shop tools and equipment.
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods of standing and performing repetitive tasks.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. at a time.
  • Must have manual dexterity to assemble products as directed.
  • Must have excellent hand‑eye coordination.
  • Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). May be required to wear a respirator and pass a fit test.
Benefits & Compensation

The total compensation for this position includes standard company benefits and is based on various factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills and experience. Salary range: $26.81 – $38.59 per hour.
