Job summary

Gala Industries, Inc. is seeking a Welder for our Roanoke, VA area production facility. The role involves welding, fabricating metal structures, and assembling components to customer specifications.

You will read and interpret blueprints and diagrams, set up welding equipment, and ensure quality and safety standards are met. Qualified candidates will have 1+ year TIG/MIG welding experience, basic blueprint reading skills, and a strong team ethic.

  • Requires High School diploma or equivalent; technical skills a plus.
  • Must have 1+ year experience in TIG & MIG welding.
  • Experience reading blueprints and interpreting diagrams is required.

Position description – Tasks, responsibilities, competencies

Welders fabricate and assemble metal structures and equipment through the use of welders, cutters, shapers and measuring tools. Welders produce metal products according to customer or employer specifications. They use multiple welding machines to repair and maintain metal equipment and structures of various sizes. Welders read and interpret diagrams, sketches and blueprints to determine operations, required materials and timeframes for projects. Welders set up, operate and maintain welding equipment. They understand and implement personal and company safety measures by wearing specialized goggles, helmets and gloves. Communication skills are essential to work with team members and converse with customers. Welders operate and maintain the machines that repair metal structures, equipment and machinery. Welders are qualified by process & positions in variety of fields based on their skill level and experience, Ability to lift heavy items Candidate had to be a strong team player Candidate had to be reliable Follow all safety rules and quality standards Follow all company rules and policies. The incumbent considers all interests of quality, accident prevention and occupational safety as well as environmental safety in a preventive manner within his/her scope of responsibility and supports the avoidance of damages to people, facilities, assets, material and environment actively. Work Environment

Work in this position is in a factory floor environment. While performing the duties of this job in a factory setting, the employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud and PPE may be required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing. The employee must be able to lift items up to 50 pounds. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Pay Range: USD 20.00 - 24.00 Hourly

This position is eligible to earn a discretionary bonus based on performance metrics and other criteria outlined in our applicable bonus plan.
