Dover Corporation's Maag Pump Systems in Kent, OH, is seeking an assembler to join our manufacturing team. You will assemble Maag equipment including pumps, pelletizers, and related components, following drawings, tolerances, and quality standards to ensure on-time delivery.

Responsibilities include reading blueprints, using micrometers and gauges, operating overhead cranes and forklifts, and maintaining safe, clean work areas while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Education: high school diploma or equivalent; mechanical aptitude is a plus.
  • Experience with woodworking or wood assembly is desirable but not required.
  • Ability to read assembly drawings and use measuring tools accurately.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble parts and subassemblies per drawings and BOMs.
  • Read blueprints and maintain tolerances on prints.
  • Operate overhead cranes and forklifts safely as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work area and participate in continuous improvement.

As a manufacturer of gear pumps, pelletizing, and filtration systems, and pulverizers we offer top-grade equipment for your demanding requirements – not only for polymer applications but also for the chemical, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, and food industries.Assembler provides the highest quality work ethic and character assembling the Maag family of equipment to include: Pelletizers, Pulverizers, Water Baths, Air Knives, Water Slides, Pumps, Screen Changers, Conveying Equipment and Color Mixers with an emphasis on 100% on time delivery to meet our customer’s expectations and needs.Position description – Tasks, responsibilities, competenciesAssembly RequirementsHas general knowledge and understanding of woodworking tools and assemblyPossesses knowledge of power hand tools, clamping methods, and related hardware for installation.Positions parts and subassemblies by lifting, bending, and kneeling multiple times per day, working overhead from a kneeling or laying position, and will require the physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs. at times.Documents labor hours to work order operations electronically or on written production labor log, completes production and quality forms, reports any discrepancies with work order material BOMSParticipates in team continuous improvement projects, tracking required metrics and participation in daily meetings.Knowledge of operating and lifting objects with overhead cranes utilizing slings, straps, or other devices.Reads and interprets assembly drawings, blueprints, layout drawings, and electrical prints.Knowledge of measuring with micrometers, feeler gauges, and understanding of tolerances on assembly printsThe incumbent actively considers all interests of quality, accident prevention, and occupational safety as well as environmental safety in a preventive manner within his scope of responsibility and supports the avoidance of damages to people, facilities, assets, materials, and the environment.The incumbent is obliged to perform tasks requested by management that relate to his position scope or arise from company needs including OT and weekends when needed. While performing the duties of this job in a factory setting, the employee will be exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud and PPE may be required. All company safety policies must always be followed and required PPE for respective work areas must be worn without exception.Physical RequirementsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The job requirements require the incumbent to be in good physical shape with the ability to do heavy lifting. Considerable forklift work with movement to and from the truck quite often. Use of forklift seatbelt is mandatory.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing. The employee must be able to lift items up to 70- 80 pounds.The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
