Job summary

Chart, Inc. designs cryogenic equipment and seeks a skilled TIG welder to join our fast-paced fabrication shop.

You will read blueprints, interpret schematics, and weld stainless steel piping for cryogenic systems, while maintaining strict quality control and safety standards. You will operate and maintain welding equipment, conduct pre- and post-weld inspections, and collaborate with teammates to troubleshoot fabrication challenges in a temperature-controlled environment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of TIG welding experience, preferably in pipe welding with stainless steel.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain TIG welding certifications (certifications encouraged).
  • Strong understanding of welding processes, metallurgy, and the behavior of stainless steel in demanding applications.
  • Proficiency with measuring instruments, such as calipers and micrometers, to verify dimensions and tolerances.
  • Excellent attention to detail and manual dexterity.

Responsibilities

  • Perform TIG welding on stainless steel pipes used in cryogenic systems.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine welding specifications.
  • Ensure welds meet strict quality control and safety standards, particularly for cryogenic applications.
  • Operate and maintain welding equipment, including torches, gas systems, and other related tools.
  • Conduct pre-weld and post-weld inspections to ensure structural integrity and compliance with project requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges during fabrication.
  • Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.

What Will You Do?
  • Perform TIG welding on stainless steel pipes used in cryogenic systems.

Your Physical Work Environment Will Require…
  • Fast-paced fabrication shop and on-site project settings.
  • Exposure to varying temperatures, including cold environments associated with cryogenic systems.
  • Strict adherence to safety protocols and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform tasks requiring standing, bending, and working in confined spaces for extended periods.
Your Experience Should Be...
