Job summary

Chart Industries seeks a skilled welder to join our manufacturing team in Tulsa, OK. You will perform orbital TIG welding, weld stainless steel and aluminum, and operate related equipment to create high-quality vessels and components.

The role requires completion of a Welder Training Program, proficiency in GTAW, and accurate interpretation of blueprints and welding symbols, with a strong emphasis on safety and production reliability.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Completion of a Welder Training Program required.
  • Proficient in GTAW welding and reading blueprints/symbols.
  • Ability to read blueprints, welding symbols, and perform visual inspection.

Responsibilities

  • Operate an orbital TIG machine.
  • Weld stainless steel or aluminum base materials.
  • Operate cranes, forklifts, and aerial lift.
  • Weld vessels per established manufacturing processes with minimal supervision.
  • Interpret blueprints and welding specifications to select welding processes.
  • Inspect completed welds for structural soundness.
  • Promote and support safety and production.

What Will You Do?
  • Experience operating an orbital tig machine
  • Experience in welding stainless steel and or aluminum base materials
  • Operation of cranes, forklifts, and aerial lift
  • Welding of vessels through established manufacturing processes with minimum instruction and minimumsupervision
  • Joins, fabricates, and repairs metal and other weldable material by applying appropriate welding techniques
  • Thin wall piping
  • Interprets blueprints, specifications, diagrams or schematics to determine appropriate welding process
  • Inspects completed welds to determine structural soundness
  • Performs a variety of tasks
  • Promotes and supports safety and production
Your Physical Work Environment Will Require…
  • Lifting or carrying up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequent sitting, standing, stooping, bending, twisting, walking and occasional crawling
  • Frequent pushing, pulling and handling of material
  • Occasional climbing and working at elevated positions
  • Repetitive hand movements during welding operations
Your Experience Should Be...
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Completion of a Welder Training Program
  • Proficient in all positions with GTAW
  • Proficient in knowledge of blueprint reading and welding symbols
  • Proficient in visual inspection
  • Must complete and pass welding test
  • Ability to:
  • Adhere to Company Standards and Values
  • Meet expectations for attendance and performance, and deadlines for assignments
  • Interact personably with co-workers and associates
