Job summary

Chart Industries in Tulsa, OK is seeking skilled welders to operate heavy equipment and weld vessels with GTAW. You will read blueprints, interpret welding symbols, and join and repair metal parts with minimal supervision. The role includes performing a welding test (2" SCH 5 stainless in 6G) and contributing to safety and production goals.

Openings are available for day and night shifts. A high school diploma or GED plus a formal Welder Training Program is required, with opportunities for

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Completion of a Welder Training Program.
  • Proficient in GTAW welding.
  • Knowledge of blueprint reading and welding symbols.
  • Proficient in visual inspection.
  • Must complete and pass a welding test.
  • Weld Test includes 2" SCH 5 stainless pipe in 6G position.

Responsibilities

  • Operate cranes, forklifts, and aerial lifts.
  • Weld vessels per established processes with minimal supervision.
  • Join, fabricate, and repair metal using proper welding techniques.
  • Work with thin-walled piping.
  • Interpret blueprints and diagrams to select welding processes.
  • Inspect welds for structural soundness.
  • Support safety and production initiatives.

What Will You Do?
  • Operation of cranes, forklifts, and aerial lifts
  • Welding of vessels through established manufacturing processes with minimum instruction and minimumsupervision
  • Joins, fabricates, and repairs metal and other weldable material by applying appropriate welding techniques
  • Thin wall piping
  • Interprets blueprints, specifications, diagrams or schematics to determine appropriate welding process
  • Inspects completed welds to determine structural soundness
  • Performs a variety of tasks
  • Promotes and supports safety and production

Openings are available for both Day and Night shift.

Your Physical Work Environment Will Require…
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Completion of a Welder Training Program
  • Proficient in all positions with GTAW
  • Proficient in knowledge of blueprint reading and welding symbols
  • Proficient in visual inspection
  • Must complete and pass welding test
  • Weld Test will consist of 2" SCH 5 stainless steel pipe test in the 6G position. First week will be in the testing lab to finish qualifications.

Your Physical Work Environment Will Be…
  • Lifting or carrying up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequent sitting, standing, stooping, bending, twisting, walking and occasional crawling
  • Frequent pushing, pulling and handling of material
  • Occasional climbing and working at elevated positions
  • Repetitive hand movements during welding operations
