Job summary

AC Corporation in Raleigh, NC is seeking an experienced Welder to join our Fabrication team. This hands-on role uses MIG, TIG, and Stick welding to fabricate custom equipment and components from drawings.

You'll work off drawings, measure precisely, and assemble products from start to finish in a non-production-line setting. Travel up to 25% may be required; we offer competitive pay and benefits including three weeks vacation in the first year.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years TIG/MIG welding; stainless steel & aluminum a plus.
• Experience in a sheet metal shop.
• Knowledge of weld symbols.
• At least 2 years metal fabrication experience.
• Ability to read blueprints/drawings.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints to determine cut lists and material needs.
• Pull material from stock and prepare cuts.
• Cut, bend, fit and tack parts per drawings.
• Clean welds using wire brush and grinders.
• Operate forklift to move material when required.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment.
• Travel up to 25% may be required.

AC Corporation is looking for an experienced Welder to join our Fabrication team in Raleigh, NC.

This is a hands-on welding and fabrication position for someone who enjoys building things and takes pride in quality work. You'll use MIG, TIG, and Stick welding while working with a variety of metals to fabricate custom equipment and components.

This isn't a production-line welding job. Our welders work from drawings, take measurements, cut and form material, and help build products from start to finish.

What You'll Do

• Read blueprints to create cut list and material needed.
• Pull material from stock
• Cut, bend, fit and tack
• Clean up welds (wire brush/grinders)
• May use forklift to move material
• Maintain a clean work environment
• Potentially up to 25% travel

Qualifications

• Must have at least 2 years of TIG/MIG welding (stainless steel & aluminum a plus)
• Must have worked in a sheet metal shop
• Knowledge of weld symbols
• Must have at least 2 years of metal fabrication experience
• Understand blueprints/drawings
• Ability to follow detailed instructions

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Frequent walking, bending, and squatting
• Ability to work in both hot and cold shop environments
• Ability to safely wear required PPE, including welding helmet, safety glasses, hearing protection, and protective gloves

• Ductwork
• Scrubbers
• Pipe stands
• Fan bases
• Platforms and permanent ladders
• Other custom-fabricated metal components
