Job summary

Wastequip Steel Division in Erial, NJ is seeking a MIG Welder for our manufacturing operation. The role requires experience welding in a fast-paced production environment and the ability to read blueprints.

The ideal candidate will have at least six months of welding experience, basic math skills, and the ability to follow instructions. The shift runs 6:00 AM–4:30 PM with occasional Saturdays; you must be able to lift up to 90 lbs and stand for long periods.

Qualifications

• MIG welding experience is a must.
• Six months or more of related experience is preferred.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Knowledge of basic math, tape measure reading, fractions and decimals.
• Ability to read blueprints and measuring tape.

Responsibilities

• Position parts in jigs/fixtures or clamp parts as per layout.
• Lay out, position and tack welds on work pieces.
• MIG welds along vertical, horizontal, and overhead lines.
• Connect regulator valves to gas cylinders and adjust flow for cutting torch.
• Inspect welds for bead size and specifications.
• Grind off excess weld, slag or splatter.

The ideal candidate will be a MIG Welder with prior experience in a manufacturing environment. **Hourly Rate: $24.45** **Shift Hours:** 6:00AM-4:30PM, with occasional Saturdays **Responsibilities*** Positions parts in jigs or fixtures on bench or floor, or clamps parts together along layout marks* Lays out, positions, and tack welds work pieces* MIG Welds along vertical, horizontal, and overhead weld lines* Connects regulator valves to oxygen and fuel gas cylinders for cutting torch. Turns regulator valves to activate flow of gases, lights torch, and adjusts gas mixture and pressure to obtain desired flame.
