Responsibilities

• Performing all aspects of welding work.
• Safely operate heavy equipment and follow all safety policies and procedures.
• Perform other jobs within the shop as required to assist in meeting business demands: air arching, drilling holes, torching, grinding, etc.
• Maintain compliance with all regulatory bodies and safety rules and policies.
• Perform other duties as required and directed by management.
• Ensure compliance with all safety, health, and environmental regulations and policies to achieve zero incidents and injuries; assist in delivering required training to coworkers so they can perform their jobs properly and safely.
• Communicate consistently about all activities to the appropriate individuals (internal and external).
• Maintain ongoing communication and adhere to all companywide policies to eliminate and reduce exposure to liability.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Guidelines

• 2+ years of experience in all-flux core wire welding and fitting, with welds subject to UT weld testing.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work independently and follow instructions; eye for detail; thorough knowledge of operating and documentation procedures and material flow; ability to meet deadlines and follow written and verbal instructions; accept constructive criticism; prioritize, organize, solve problems, and complete tasks independently; communicate effectively and collaborate with supervisors, management, vendors, and other employees.
• Production classification; employees work indoors and outdoors in all seasons, with exposure to noise, chemicals, heavy equipment, and machinery. Requires accurate hand/eye coordination, finger dexterity, hand strength for grasping, lifting, pushing, and pulling; requires significant climbing, twisting, bending, squatting, and kneeling for extended periods. May lift parts up to 60 pounds and pull approximately 20 pounds; must be able to ascend and descend a ladder or scaffolding.
• Welder will have no more than 90 days to meet the Welder Test Criteria. For each welding process, welders are required to pass two full‑penetration groove weld tests on a backing stripped, one‑inch‑thick, 45‑degree groove in the flat and vertical positions; these will be radiographically tested and interpreted to AWS D14.1 criterion.
• During the interview process, the welder will take a written test and perform physical welding skills that will be UT tested.

The hourly pay range for this role is $22.00 to $26.00/hr. The final compensation offer may vary based on factors such as experience, education, skills, and location.
