Job description

Position Title: Welder Wage: $20.00-$26.00 per hour Shift: 1st Hours: 5:00am-3:30pm (Mon-Thurs) QPS Employment Group has a great Welder position available at a company in Hampton, IA. This is a 1st shift position with the opportunity for hire.

Welder Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Ability to weld using MIG and Stick.
• Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine welding specifications.
• Inspect parts and weld components per blueprint specifications.
• Connect cables from welding until to obtain amperage, voltage, slope, and pulse.
• Weld in flat, horizontal, vertical, or overhead positions.
• Examine welds for bead size.
• Clean or degrease weld joint or work piece.
• Repair broken or cracked parts and fill holes.
• Prepare broken parts for welding by grooving or scarfing surface.
• Positions and clamp work pieces together or assemble them in jig or fixture.
• Perform general maintenance on welding units.
• Operate electric hoist to load or move materials.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.

Welder Requirements:

• Able to lift, push, or pull up to 50lbs.
• Ability to bend, twist, or kneel throughout an 8–10-hour shift.
• Ability to communicate with team members by reading, writing, speaking, and listening.
• Preform physical labor for extended periods of time.
• *MUST HAVE* a proven track record of several years of solid work history. Please include details of your work experience on your resume.
• Utilize basic math skills and properly read a tape measure.
• Prior experience in manufacturing.
• At least 1-3 years of Welding experience.
